DESCRIPTION:Gayla Smith\, vocalist\, pianist\,guitarist\, bassist\, and composer\, has performed in central Ohio for over three decades and has also shared her talents with audiences in Milwaukee\, Nashville\, New York\, Washington D.C.\,Key West\, St.Thomas\, and Nassau. In 2008-2009 Gayla was hired by Carnival Cruise lines as a piano bar entertainer on The Carnival Glory playing in their posh Cinn-a-Bar. In spring of 2009\, Gayla was hired to play bass guitar and for the well-seasoned\, hard driving rock band\, Soul Drive\, also performing on Carnival’s Glory. Gayla has since performed on the Carnival Splendor\, Liberty and Valor. Most recently she was hired by Disney Cruise Lines to perform in their Sessions Lounge on the Disney Magic\, rated the number one favorite of cruisers by Conde Nast 2013. She followed on the Disney Wonder\, also very highly rated by seasoned cruisers subscribing to Conde Nast. Gayla was the featured piano bar entertainer in the new “Keys” Lounge on the Disney Magic for it’s inaugural voyage celebrating it’s highly publicized “reimaginined” renovation in the fall of 2013.  She most recently followed up with a very successful contract on the Disney Fantasy\, also voted the number one cruise ship experience by Conde Nast cruisers\,  2014.

SUMMARY:Hunter Lepi
DESCRIPTION:In a dark barroom somewhere sits Charles Bukowski across from Hunter S. Thompson\, the two of them insulting each other to no redeemable end while they chain smoke and furiously try to outdrink each other. They discreetly agree on César Vallejo before Bukowski slaps the waitress’s ass and tells her to bring another bottle on Thompson’s dime. The waitress backhands him with all her bodyweight before doing so.\nIn the back of the room Bob Dylan is playing chess with Susana Clark while Townes Van Zandt stares at them from the bathroom window. Meanwhile Lightnin’ Hopkins and John Lee Hooker are trading stories whilst Tab Benoit listens as he steadily slips into a Courvoisier haze of attention. At a side booth sits Johnny Cash\, Willie Nelson\, Jim Croce\, and Sturgill Simpson discussing the pleasures of home as a child while their wives sip wine and discuss cultural climates of the planet. Elliot Smith sits in the corner jotting lines on a napkin when Doug Stanhope fumbles over to him and asks for a lighter. Moments pass after Pamela Courson enters the bar with an Italian playwright before Jim Morrison kicks the door ajar\, arm in arm with Janis Joplin\, and they fall toward the bar and bartender and Morrison tells him he wants a bottle of Bushmills while his “lover” wants a tea. She scoffs\, pulls a joint out of her hair and sparks it expertly.\nHunter Lepi then comes through the entrance. He has a backpack on carrying a guitar case and microphone stand in his right hand and a small amplifier in his left. The room watches him set his things down and in order. He is alone. He is nobody to them. They know nobody. Lepi strums his guitar once\, says “check” into the microphone twice quickly\, clears his throat and blasts off into a blues tune. The room does not respond. They shut up. Hunter plays all night for everyone never knowing where he’s going next.

DESCRIPTION:Micah Kesselring\, 24\, has performed blues music since he was 14 years old. Raised in the Appalachia foothills of southeastern Ohio\, Kesselring quickly made his way onto the Columbus blues music scene after playing smaller hometown shows\, and became acquainted with the Columbus Blues Alliance. He soon made his way down to Memphis\, TN for the International Blues Challenge\, representing the Columbus Blues Alliance in the Youth Showcase category. Following a performance at the Blues City Cafe on Beale Street\, he was awarded the inaugural Generation Blues scholarship at the age of 15 to the Centrum Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival & Workshop in Port Townsend\, Washington\, which was presented to him by Cassie Taylor at the IBC band finals. Micah later went on to perform as a special guest with the Otis Taylor Band at the Blues Music Awards in May of 2009\, and performed at numerous festivals\, including the Heritage Music Bluesfest in Wheeling\, WV\, the Traditional Acoustic Blues Festival in Worthington\, OH\, the Grey Skies Blues Fest in Tacoma\, WA\, Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival in Gahanna\, OH and the Big Bend Blues Bash in Pomeroy\, OH throughout the next couple of years. \nMicah represented the Kentucky Blues Society and The Pomeroy Blues and Jazz Society\, at the 2010\, and 2011 International Blues Challenges\, respectively\, and advanced to the semi finals both times. Micah had the honor of performing with Hubert Sumlin and Bob Margolin in January of 2011 for the Dayton Blues Society Winter Blues Showcase at Gilly’s Jazz Club\, and later that spring completed a 3-week tour of Florida as a member of the Sean Carney Band (2007 IBC Band Champion). He has since performed many shows with Sean\, and established a strong mentorship with him as well. Micah was awarded the highly coveted John Cephas Scholarship in both 2011 and 2012\, returning again to the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival. \nIn 2012\, Micah won the Columbus Blues Alliance Blues Challenge and represented the CBA at the 2013 International Blues Challenge\, where he was once again a semi-finalist. While in Memphis\, Micah appeared and performed on WREG’s Live at 9 Morning Show\, which was broadcast live on CBS and aired during the IBC. Three months later\, Micah was a recipient of the Blues Foundation’s Generation Blues Scholarship\, and once again returned to the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival and Workshop. \nOn August 17th\, Micah performed at the 2013 Project Blues Review\, and had the pleasure of meeting and performing with Keb’ Mo’. Soon after\, he picked up an endorsement from Ernie Ball. In October\, he released his debut album\, Log Cabin Blues\, and traveled up to Cleveland for the Cleveland Blues Society’s Blues Challenge\, where he was the solo/duo champion. Micah represented the CBS at the 2014 International Blues Challenge in late January\, where he advanced to the semi-finals.  \n2014 has been a busy year for Micah\, opening up for the likes of legendary blues man Roy Book Binder and Juno Award-winning artist Ray Bonneville and completing two tours of Washington. “Preachin’ the Blues\,” a track featured on ‘Log Cabin Blues\,’ has gained significant airplay on SiriusXM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville. Micah was a special guest on the Dany Franchi Band’s (from Genoa\, Italy) brand new CD ‘I Believe’\, performing slide guitar on the title track. Micah returned to the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival in July\, and a successful tour followed afterwards\, including an appearance on Marlee Walker’s Blues To Do TV and Jonathon ‘Oogie’ Richards Might Mouth Blues Radio Show. On August 29th\, two days after Micah’s 21st birthday\, he traveled outside of the USA for the first time\, headlining the 10-day Cali Blues & Folk Festival in Colombia\, South America. There\, Micah traveled to four different cites (Cali\, Buga\, Pereira\, Palmira)\, performing blues music in historic theatres and auditoriums and teaching about the history of pre-war blues (alongside Dorrian Neymour\, from St. Louis\, MO) at different universities\, schools\, and activity centers. Heading immediately to Washington after Colombia\, Micah retreated for a week to write for his new album\, followed by a performance at the Leavenworth Music Festival. The ‘Log Cabin Blues Live: In Washington EP’ was released on November 18\, compiling tracks performed at 88 Keys in Seattle\, WA (from Marlee Walker’s Blues to Do TV and Oogie’s Mighty Mouth Radio Blues Show) and the Leavenworth Music Festival. In November\, Micah performed at the world-famous Buddy Guy’s Legends Club in Chicago\, IL\, and\, in December\, won a Blues411 Jimi Award in the Comin’ Up Youth category. “Chef” Jimi Patricola added “Our winner so impressed me at the IBC’s last year and is burning up the road touring and playing.” Micah and is in the pre-production stages of his new album\, with a planned release date of Spring 2015. 2015 is already looking to be a busy year\, with festival bookings\, teaching at the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival\, and the debut of the Micah Kesselring Band. \nSo far in 2016\, Micah will be featured in the Feb/March issue of Blues Matters! DESCRIPTION: \nKeith Lykins is a fingerstyle guitarist an instrumentalist\, a one man band\, a singer-songwriter as well as a consummate entertainer. His music encompasses aspects of traditional classical music\, Spanish\, Arabic and Americana influences. He plays and sings a wide but cohesive mixture of cover and original music. From rock music cover tunes performed in a truly novel way to Arabic\, Turkish\, World Music\, Blues and Acoustic Percussive Guitar on the 6 string guitar\, 9 string drum guitar and fretless guitar\, his music shines its way through unexpected gulfs and valleys of emotion. \nKeith is composer\, performer\, recording artist\, writer and inventor located in the American Midwest. A Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Guitar Performance as well as advanced studies in composition\, orchestration and ethnomusicology have provided the foundation which allows him to further his journey dedicated to the exploration of international music and to become a trail blazer in the world of guitar. \nKeith developed the 9 string drum guitar in 2011. It enhanced his ability to integrate a variety of sounds into live performance as well as composition. It took his music to a different plateau\, raising the bar in the use of percussive techniques on the acoustic guitar. \nIn 1997\, Keith received his second degree black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu. In 2017 Keith released his first book S.E.E.D Student Enhancement and Energy Development. It was a work developed over 2 decades through his work with Kung Fu Instructor Jeff Adams. It is a publication dedicated to aiding in the development of focus and concentration and creating a relaxed\, focused state. It utilizes Tai’ Chi exercise movements and concepts developed from Keith’s studies in Chung Yen Shaolin Kung Fu. The S.E.E.D. Program was originally used to help reduce symptoms of ADD/ADHA in children.
